After 2 1/2 days, I'm finally here. All was smooth going from Columbus to DC then DC to Kuwait. We stopped in Kuwait after a 13 hour flight to fuel up and I guess that's where things went wrong. We sat idle for about 4 hours on the plane then they finally decided to just cancel the flight. After waiting 3 hours in line to figure out how to schedule, we finally got taken to a hotel in Kuwait City. Through this process we met a lot of other American travelers so it wasn't too scary. They did feed us at the hotel then we got about an hour of sleep before our 4am wake up call. After a 4 hour layover in Bahrain we finally made it to Nepal. The trip from the airport to our house was unlike anything I have ever witnessed. The city was completely dark but from that prospective it just seemed like a lof of half built buildings or houses that seemed to be falling to the ground. Our house is not too bad though. We woke up this morning to music, prayer and monkeys at 5am!!! Breakfast is ready! Got to go...more later!!
Glad you made it there safely--finally! Keep soaking it all in and aren't the monkey sounds unforgettable?!! Can't wait to hear how your first full day in Nepal went. Hugs, Jackie
